ePST® helps meet the growing demand for student support services

As student’s mental health concerns rise, college health clinics are challenged to meet their needs while containing costs. everMind™ can help. Our initial program, ePST® enables clinicians to provide effective care to more students. Students access the program in the clinic, scheduling ePST sessions as with a live clinician. Clinicians monitor student progress through automated reports and provide other care as needed.

Students with depression are twice as likely to leave college without graduating1 and nearly 30% of college students report feeling "so depressed that it was difficult to function" at some time in the past year.2 Academic performance suffers, students often struggle socially, and they are more likely to abuse alcohol and engage in unsafe sex. Depression also is a major risk factor for suicide, and treatment can reduce suicide rates.

Research has shown that only about one in three students with a mental health problem have received any treatment in the past year 3, and only 22% of college students with depression received minimally adequate care.4 Many students prefer to deal with problems on their own; ePST can provide the tools to do so. ePST is efficient - it can help many students reduce stress and depression within six computer-guided sessions. It can be offered as a stand-alone treatment, or as a complement to other interventions, including pharmaceutical therapy. ePST is a valuable tool to help student health centers meet the growing demand for assistance in their student populations.
